How does Keep Secret protect my data?

Hide Photo Vault - Keep Secret uses several methods to ensure the privacy and security of your data.

Encryption
When you add photos and videos to your Keep Secret vault, they are protected with standard 256-bit AES encryption. All files are stored encrypted. The only way to decrypt your files is:

• unlock your photo vault with a Keep Secret PIN;
• Touch ID / Face ID authentication if it is enabled.

Encryption ensures that other applications cannot read or open your files unless you choose to. When you export files from the Keep Secret photo and video vault, they will be decoded and returned to their original state.


Your PIN
Hide Photo Vault - Keep Secret requires you to set up a PIN. Files collected internally will not be decrypted or viewable until the screen is unlocked with a PIN. If you have forgotten your PIN, you will be required to perform a «Password Reset», which involves receiving a new access code to the verified email address associated with your account.


Backup
Keep Secret not only encrypts files, but also creates encrypted backups in case you lose your device. Number of backups:

• For users of the Basic package (free version of Keep Secret) - the first 10 files will be saved;
• For users of the paid Premium package, it is possible to store up to 10,000 encrypted files.

For example, if something happens to your phone, you can easily recover your files by logging into your account on a new device. In addition, backups make it easier to synchronize an additional device, such as a tablet.

Access codes and privacy protection
Every time you log into your Keep Secret account on a new or additional device, you will first need to receive a login link that is sent to your verified email address. This way we understand that it is you who is logging in and not someone else.
